The Importance of Hydration

Keeping hydrated throughout your day may seem like it’s obvious but most of us don’t fully grasp the importance of hydration and also how much water we should be consuming on the daily basis.

According to Dr. Andrew Huberman, a neuroscientist from Stanford, we should be consuming approximately 8oz per waking hour for the first 10 hours of the day and then 5oz thereafter. This is independent of water intake during exercise.

By keeping your tissue hydrated it enhances the body’s ability to remain mobile. Conversely, when tissue becomes dehydrated it tends to limit mobility and may lead to further dysfunction.

Water also plays a large role in the waste removal processes of the body which is a very important part of the rehab process.

To conclude, a healthy body is a hydrated body and a body well hydrated moves with less pain and better function!
