When I arrived to see Connie in December 2023, I had been through a couple of challenging years – the loss of my mom in isolation during Covid, and more recently a serious cancer diagnosis for my husband … my body was full of stress! My left hip in particular had been very painful for 6 months and sound sleep was elusive despite having treatments with a chiropractor, deep tissue massage and acupuncture. Nothing had a lasting effect. I was so eager to see if Connie’s intensive sports massage technique could help relieve some of the deeper stress my body was holding. To treat my hip pain, she also focused on some of my older more problematic back and neck areas to get at the deeper source of my pain and explained how this was all connected. After just one session I began to feel a freedom of movement and slept really well – wow! As treatment continued she explained how and why she was approaching treatment in a wholistic way, and showed me exercises I could do to maintain the healing. I continue to improve and can now joyfully walk pain free and sleep well. I’m a work in progress – but the changes so far have been amazing. Thank you Connie!!
My Atlanta knee surgeon gave up on relieving me of the pain I suffered after surgery. I could barely walk. He said “you may just have to live with this.” Fast forward to Boca Grande, Florida where my beloved wife gave me one of her hard to get weekly appointments with Connie Schwarzendruber, her sports massage therapist. After just one session, I booked one for every week going forward. Connie cured my knee pain in 3 weeks. It was scar tissue and she knew it the first time she examined my knee. Since then she has kept me moving through shoulder operations, back pain, cancer and much more. She also took care of my wife with regular weekly appointments through knee, hip and back pain. Connie is a healer and a dear friend. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found her practice. I’ve also worked with her sons, Caleb and Adrian, and they are excellent too. We cannot recommend Schwartz Therapy too highly. They are the best.
I’m a pretty active 70 year old with two artificial hips. I work out, play golf and swim laps regularly and I’m also on my feet quite a bit during the day. Like many others my age, I didn’t feel great. Yeah, my hips worked fine and I could do everything I wanted to but I knew my body and overall physical condition wasn’t great. Over the years I have seen doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists and even acupuncturists and I began to accept that my physical condition was just old age. Then I was recommended to Connie at Swartz Sports Therapy and from the beginning their vibe and approach just felt right to me.
I started working with Caleb a few years ago and I knew immediately that he was going to be different from the others I had seen. His stretching and deep tissue work is the best that I have experienced and I guess on some level, that is enough. But throughout it all Caleb was confident that I could do better and our 60 minutes sessions became a ‘classroom’. We talk about exercise, nutrition, breathing, sleeping and how it all impacts our health. We discuss foods to decrease inflammation and breathing techniques to reduce stress and improve sleep. He has developed a weightlifting and core strengthening program for me. And we continuously fine tune things as the need arises.
Caleb has helped me tremendously. My posture has improved. I’m stronger. I have lost a good deal of weight simply by eating well and I sleep much better and I feel more relaxed. I haven’t felt this good in decades and Caleb has had a huge part in it. If you have an opportunity to work with him, do yourself that favor. Listen, take notes and yes, you can do better too.
I have been working with Connie for close to 10 years. She has made a real and sustainable improvement in my ability to enjoy wide range of physical activities without pain. What is unique about Connie is how she combines deep tissue massage and stretching with ongoing education and exercises I can work on between sessions.
